We offer the most affordable CHL Training in Central Texas!

State Law mandates that new CHL classes be no less than 10 hours and renewal classes are no less than 4 hours.   Satisfactory completion of one of these classes is necessary before you can apply or renew your Concealed Handgun License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eagle Peak Shooting Range

 

Class Schedule:

  • Concealed Handgun License Classes are scheduled for Austin and surrounding areas on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.  Class size is 15 in order to maximize range safety.

 

Provided in Class:

  • Training materials and multimedia presentations
  • DPS student applicant packet
  • Assistance with all required paperwork
  • Texas CHL Law Book
  • Fingerprinting cards and information
  • 2 Passport ID photographs

 

Costs:

  • CHL Class Fee: $80 for new applicants / $45 for renewals
  • Texas DPS License Fee:  $140 new applicants / $70 renewals (paid directly to TXDPS).
  • There is a $45 deposit to reserve a place in the class
  • Range Fee $20 (includes lifetime membership at Eagle Peak Shooting Range)

 

CHL Training Subjects:

  • Introduction to the course
  • Concealed Handgun License requirements and restrictions
  • Range safety, basic marksmanship, handgun use, and evaluation
  • Handgun proficiency
  • Weapon storage, safety practice, child safety and proper handgun cleaning
  • Non-violent dispute resolution
  • Final Exam and Certification

Larry Joslin is a retired USAF Sgt with 30 years experience in weapon use.  His membership in the Texas Concealed Handgun Instructors Association provides him with the most up to date information for his classes. With his law enforcement background he has the knowledge to give excellent counsel to all of his students and has done so since 1996.
